This could cause some sticky situations. What if you are a band that distributed your content online at YouTube and or Myspace and later made it big? Who owns your previous content? How do you release if say you wanted to make a greatest hits album?

The marketing campaign for Clerks II is embracing the Internet medium in ways that have not been used yet. Most Hollywood productions websites are setup with a cheesy website, with god-awful wallpapers and icons to download to promote their movies. Many movie studio executives I would assume determine that these websites are an effective means of promoting a movie in the new digital realm. There have only been a few websites that have come from movies that have ever amounted to anything. For example the first Matrix website. The website turned into a collection of Matrix material, from behind the scenes info and videos, to downloadable content for your computer, as well deployed an element of the movie into the website. There was a password given at the end of the first movie, and one could go to the website and unlock extra content by entering the given password at the website.
Many forms of digital content and advertisement h ave not evolved from this initial base. Much of the websites for movies today are unimaginative and boring! Throw up a Myspace profile, and make a website with some cheesy flash animation and you have yourself a movie website. Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest is a good example of this.
Clerks II marketers have done a good job at the guerilla advertising aspect of promoting the movie. By creating several Myspace profiles that all ow the user to interact with the website. The Mooby's profile allows you to add yourself as a friend, and if you do so before July 21st your name will be add ed to the credits on the DVD release of Clerks II. YouTube also has many shorts on their website promoting the movie similar to the one linked above. All of these allow the user/audience to seek more content and interact with the publicity side of the m ovie. New movies such as Clerks II and some music artists are starting to understand and grasp this new concept of promotion and content management. This strategy then allows for a person like me or you to blog and build interest of the movie, and to bec ome apart of the creation process of advertisement of a particular movie/product.

I've missed the episodes so far on Adult Swim. Hopefully they keep airing them, and not do what the did with Saved By The Bell.

Pitchfork: News Pitchfork Launches 'Infinite Mixtape' MP3 Series

A new news section announced at the Pitchfork Media website. I will have to keep a watch on this page, and see if any new music worthwhile checking out is put on the site. It is more or less a new music feature, with downloadable MP3 tracks. Pitchfork can be pretty biased, and uncertain what they want to promote sometimes, so could be good, could be bad.

Microsoft Word 2007 Blogging Feature

Well I?m testing out the blogging features built into Microsoft Office 2007. A nifty feature to use for blogging, as I usually copy and paste my blog entries into Word for spellchecking. There are a few items I do not like so far. The number one item I don not like is that I can not make my blog title a hyperlink. Why I can?t do this, I?m not sure. This is a default feature of Blogger.com. I have found that Flocker?s built in blogging feature does not create links with in the title as well. Is Blogger the only blogging service that creates titles as links?
