Ocarina of time: 2D - RC1 (Release Candidate 1) Beta - Release will be soon

The game is basically the 2D translation of Ocarina of Time for N64. It will include everything from the original game, and i BELEIVE he was intentionally coding in the glitches found in 1.0 gold cart, but i'm unsure if this will still be a feature. It will also include a special dungeon and 3 extra items (i think it's armor, boots, and another sword. The only thing i can say for sure is the armor).

This looks friggin sweet! One of the best Zelda games in 2D.

Colbert Cheats to Victory Over Decemberists!

Leave it to the conservative right to connive its way into the winner's circle once again! While the Decemberists' Chris Funk did indeed shred valiantly on tonight's episode of "The Colbert Report" (even if he did look a little more like a Von Trapp than a rawk titan), he was no match for the cunning of Colbert himself-- nor the man's uncanny catalog of celebrity connections.

Umm the Decemberists sux! Even their name is non-innovative. "Man the Decemberist rock!" "What?" "The Decemberist rock!" You think December rocks?" "No I said the Decemberist rock"

The lead guitarist couldn't even come up with a cool guitar lick, he just tried making up some 80's big hair / Jack Black guitar solo.
Oh well...
Watch the vid, its pretty funny, and ignore the annoying ads.

Official Google Mac Blog: Why Chanute?

If you're in the U.S. and you have a Mac, try this: Launch Google Earth, wait for the zooming to stop, and then press the + button to zoom closer. You'll arrive at the small town of Chanute, Kansas, nestled in the southeast corner of the state. I doubt you've ever noticed this before now. But even if you have, you're probably wondering -- why Chanute?

A Google Mac Blog post about why the Mac version zooms to Chanute, Kansas by default.

Placing Applications Folder On The Dock

I've been looking for a nifty way to place all my installed apps, in one easy to access location. Well I finally found that the Application Folder can be dragged onto the Dock on the right side of the vertical separator.
When done, you can Crtl click and a list of applications will shoot up the right side of your desktop. Not as easy I was hoping, but it works.
Once I got my little Applications menu to work, I did not like the folder badged icon that is placed on the Dock. So I did some Google Images searching and found a cleaned up Applications Icon.

Geek to Live: iTunes power tips - Lifehacker

Apple's free digital music software iTunes has been through three major versions since Lifehacker launched, and each new release just gets better. At this point iTunes is much more than just a music manager. While no piece of software is perfect - and iTunes could certainly stand a few more revisions - more than once I've wished my file manager handled all the data on my hard drive as well as iTunes deals with my 80 gigs or so of MP3's.

We've posted boatloads of iTunes hacks, workarounds, features, screenshots and tips over the past 2 years. But today I'd like to highlight some of the lesser-known but super-useful iTunes features available in the latest version.

A few nifty tricks to tame your iTunes Library, from the writers at Lifehacker. I agree iTunes still needs some much needed tweaking in how it manages files! But it is getting better.

4 color rebellion » Nintendo Gives Flash Game Advent Calendar

You guys remember advent calendars, right? You would open one slot every day up until Christmas. Well, Nintendo of Europe has a great one set up for us fans. It takes the form of a game called ?Snowdriftland.?

Every day, an additional level opens up on the website. You guide a snowman through a Mario inspired world and collect snowflakes. It is a great way to spend a few minutes each day, and how can you resist some free Nintendo magic?

I wish that they would take the time to do this for other occasions as well. It would be a great way to count down to a holiday or a release date. Next time, they could even make the games Wiimote-friendly.

Pretty sweet. You play a little game that has the feel of Super Mario Brothers 2 and than receive cool wallpapers and ringtones. Why didn't Nintendo of America do something like this?

Peppermint Pattie?

April and I were decorating the Christmas tree and watching It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown.
I started to wonder why the hell does Marcie call Peppermint Pattie Sir, all the time?

Update--12/11/06 --On the Porch--
What is it about Christmas that I get all sentimental? I don't know what it is? I mean each year Christmas becomes more important to me. I wish I could meet the expectations loved ones place upon Christmas. I think that I always fall short by making sure everyone has a good Christmas, and in the end to those that it means the most I fall short, fail. I wish I could give to everyone who I would want to, the amount I feel I could. Or to what I give, that it is understood on the same level. Christmas is such a great time. All those stories and ideals that are expressed in movies/cartoons. Those ideals are real and really hit home. Decorating the Christmas tree, hanging lights, building wish lists, making cookies, and watching a Charlie Brown Christmas.
I wish everyone of the world, that one of their dreams are fulfilled during the Christmas season.

4 color rebellion » Use Your WiiMote for … Well, Nothing Interesting in Particular

Sure, you can use your Wiimote to play Wii games - yeah, that?s fun if you?re, like, eight years old. See, we adults are more interested in how the Wiimote can help us format Excel spreadsheets. That?s the future: motion-sensing Word documents!

Pretty damn cool! If you have lose your remote for your Macbook/Pro you can bust out your Wiimote and use it.
I wonder what else the Wiimmote can do?

Uber-rare Velvet Underground recording on eBay Listening Post

An outfit called Saturn Records is overseeing the eBay auction of what they call "ARGUABLY THE RAREST & MOST IMPORTANT ROCK 'N' ROLL AND POP-ART ARTIFACT IN THE WORLD". It ain't John Lennon's secret baile funk record, nor Jimi Hendrix's lost duets with Grandmaster Flash - no, it's a 12" acetate record from the recording of the first Velvet Underground (and Nico) album in 1966.

Holy Cow! This is the kind of stuff Ebay is made for. Totally ultra rare stuff, that no one with a normal income would ever be able to afford. I dream of someday being able to bid on something like this, maybe that ultra rare and lost Smashing Pumpkins record, can we say MACHINA II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music , or something that is even more rare? When I last checked the auction was at 110,100.00 with 134 bids and 4 days and 8 hours left. It always amazes me what lengths music fans are willing to go, to get that one rare item for their collection. Music can be a very empowering element, as well as hell of expensive. Maybe the new owner will release the recording onto the internet. I have never really listened to the "all important" Velvet Underground, so maybe I'll have to take a listen.

I will have to check this out. No Mac version yet.

Autopia Honda Jets to the Future

Honda rolled out two new concept cars at the LA Auto Show yesterday -- a sports car that looks readyHonda_remix for the runway and an hybrid fuel cell vehicle.

Honda is really mixing it up with the concept cars. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the direction Honda is taking with their car designs. If you ask me they look a little to American. The REMIX concept could be a CR-X replacement/comeback. Oh Honda should make a new Rex!
