AI and Web Design

AI in Website Creation

AI can help a web developer create websites by creating a layout to their liking. Sophia Martin writes, "A much larger and consistent way that artificial intelligence is changing web design is by beginning to supplant the designers themselves. A growing field of artificial design intelligence (ADI) tools is doing exactly that and fostering a fundamental change in the way websites are created." Creating a website can take a long time and could be tedious. Letting AI do a lot of the work lets the web developer spend more time fine-tuning the website. One exaple of this would be Wix. They have you answer questions about what you are wanting for a website. It then provides a website that could be added on to to make the website unique.

AI in Chatbots

Sometimes customers online do not know what they are looking for. Asking an employee their question is probably the best option. Unfortunately, there are most likely more customers with questions than employees with the answers. A good fix for this is to use a chatbot in your website. Chatbots used to be very crude and had little help with directing traffic on a website. Lukily, AI is able to be used in a chatbot which allows for more sophisticated technology to be used in chatbots. Olga Vysochynska writes, "Based on Artificial Intelligence, [chatbots] soon will learn how to recognize human emotions. More and more online buyers will find it easier to interact with a website via a chatbot." By detecting emotion while listening to a customer, chatbots are able to be more useful in trying to find the right product. Implementing this into your website could allow you to offer a more specific selection to your customers.

AI in Content Recommendations

Sometimes when you finish an article you want to learn more about that topic, and maybe it might spark other intersets. The recommendations you get most likely come from AI. Sophia writes that by implementing artificial intelligence on your website, you can show the audience certain content that is designed for them. When web developers use AI, they are able to suggest further content that will keep them interested and possibly even stay on your site more. If the customer had a great experience going down a rabbit hole, they might talk to their friends and family about it which allows you to get more vistors. A related function of AI is that most types will always learn. The more that they are used, the smarter and more efficent they get. John Hughes talks about this subject, "Perhaps best of all is the fact that AI, by its very nature, will become 'smarter' the more often it’s used. This means that the [user experience] on your site can continually improve, as its AI becomes better equipped to handle your visitors’ needs." Implimenting AI early into your website's life seems like it would benefit you more than implimenting it later on.
