Portfolio

Below is a selection of my recent writing collected from courses taken at JCCC.

Critique

Modern Machiavelli: The Office Prince critiques a YouTube video breaking down an episode of NBC’s The Office. I compare the content from this video to the writings of Niccolò Machiavelli. This essay from my Composition II class during the Spring 2020 semester was the only paper to produce a laugh from both the teacher and my peers.

Explicate

Thalassography: Human Life and Estuaries explicates a poem by Sarah Holland-Batt to understand it at a deeper level. This was my final project in my Introduction to Poetry class during the Spring 2020 semester.

Memoir

Musical Memoir focuses on how music has impacted my life. It was written for the Literature of American Popular Music during the Summer 2020 semester and earned a perfect score.

Profile

Stomping Grounds profiles a popular equestrian facility located in DeSoto, KS. My interviews and observations of the daily actives in this busy lesson barn earned me the high score in the class for this essay. This assignment was completed during the Fall 2019 semester for my Composition I class.
